Why the crop column matters more in Nashik
Nashik is not a district where Form XII is a formality. This is India’s grape and wine capital — the vineyard belt runs through Niphad and Dindori — and home to Lasalgaon, the country’s benchmark onion market. On a Nashik 7/12:
- The crop entries (grapes, onions, sugarcane, vegetables) feed into horticulture subsidies, crop insurance and bank valuations. A vineyard recorded as fallow is money left on the table.
- Irrigation status — canal, well or rain-fed — shows in the record, and in a district watered by the Godavari and Girna systems it can swing the price of otherwise identical plots.
Before buying farm land here, read the crop and irrigation entries against what you see on the ground, and check the boundaries on the Bhu Naksha map.
